Change data capture (CDC) is a way of capturing and streaming data changes so they can be consumed and reacted to in real-time. CDC can turn your data into events, allowing you to decouple your applications, replicate your data, and trigger downstream consumers. In this talk, Scullion will discuss the benefits and challenges of implementing CDC at scale, and describe best practices and additional patterns for optimizing performance so you can make the most out of your event driven architecture. He’ll discuss examples of CDC in production environments using technologies like MongoDB, DynamoDB, Kafka, AWS Kinesis, AWS Eventbridge and AWS Lambda.
