In this journey, Kroger’s division responsible for last-mile fulfillment in digital eCommerce was specifically addressing performance and business agility issues with the legacy fulfillment system that began with the start of the pandemic.
Ernest will call out the drivers for change, the characteristics prioritized for next generation business processing, and the new challenges and gaps they are addressing now. He will delineate how this process forced a shift in execution strategy, to focusing on the event and data streams as the primary product. Shifting focus allowed Kroger to decentralize, decouple, scale, and descale in a more dynamic manner, injecting finer grain of observability into processes as they moved resources to the cloud.
